I believe that VWR is always "for sale," as they are a part of a Holding Company's portfolio. Madison Dearborn, if I remember correctly.
Correct, it a vessel that if it can be sold for more than it was bought for, and while running, services its debt and makes shareholder value, then better. It is only a commercial arrangement.

Yeah, they bought Bioexpress a year ago and I thought they would have absorbed them by now, since I heard they only bought them to get their customer list and contacts. But the Bioexpress rep is still around, and I only hear from my VWR rep if I call him.

FUBAR is only the tip of the iceberg. I deal with them on our lab supply side. In the past year we have had so many invoice and credit issues. I have had 2-3 reps in 2the years, and when I call in for help I swear they are reading from a script.

Their customer service and 'care' for customers really shines through against fisher (thermo) here in Australia.
Thermo are known here for having a sour approach after losing business, which in turn loses them more business!!!
The vwr guys in my experience put up with similar stresses but deal with it better,
Negative staff from OZ have been quickly outed from vwr which had helped in the last year.

As a supplier, we are constantly having to deal with VWR employee turnover, slow response to generate quotes
.... I will repeat that the high staff turnover is due to dreadful management and the constant pressure of having to do less with more and get more cash (from sales) for less value (to customer). It will be interestimng to see how long this post lasts.

VWR has to be the most dysfunctional organization I have ever worked with. As a supplier, we are constantly having to deal with VWR employee turnover, slow response to generate quotes, and a distinct dissatisfaction within their customer base. Sorry, there is just no comparison with Fisher....and when our time is up for distribution agreement, we will definitely be considering options.

I do not quite understand bio technology like this. However, with the industry, I think it could help people to be able to discover which drugs they need to heal physical pain or just vitamins to keep their bodies healthy always. Echo Pacific Construction Chris Rowe

FUBAR is an understatement....SAP & "the restructure" has lost customers, clients and employees. Management refusues to acknowledge any problems and will blame employees for any failings.
Reigning in costs..Running lean...Cross training...Great results!!
