Say Goodbye to Stago

It has been 12 years since Stago has released a front line analyzer in an industry which dictates that research and development produce a replacement every 5 years based on the depreciation rates and consumer buying cycles.

The last front-line system produced by Stago was in the year 2000. Sure, Stago repackaged their Star, called it the evolution and finally upgraded the software to XP and added a couple of USB ports, but it still contains a floppy drive (Really? A floppy drive?)

Most Consumers have waited and are in fact on their 2nd and 3rd buying cycle - But most won't buy again.

So what is Stago's plan?

Introduce the Destiny and Destiny Max. The next generation Stago is not a Stago at all. Its a rehashed re-packaged purchased piece of equipment from Trinity. A product which never flew on its own, yet, Stago is putting all of its eggs in one basket here with this product. In fact, Stago is moving out all of their key dedicated personnel and bringing in the Trinity people who failed miserably in their 1st attempt at releasing this product. Those Stago personnel who are not being run off are seeking employment elsewhere. The writing is on the wall for those with any understanding of the medical devise industry and buying cycles.

But it's not just here in the States where this is happening. Even the french market is turning their backs on the Stago Apathy.

Since there is a clinical definition for his condition, why doesn't HR relieve him of his duties and put him on lng term disability or better yet force him to retire early because of incompetence. After several years they "fixed" the problems and released it again. Problems still there and slow as molasis on a winter day. Oh and it runs on DOS. Yes, DOS, I'm surprised it isn't Latin. Sorry but that's not innovation. The only other items are software, but they have more problems known and unknown when its released. The last "innovation" on STA-R was a change from Win NT to XP Pro. BUT you can't upgrade an older system, you need to buy a new one. That's how they "update". So to bolster their hardware they bought T-Coag. What a deal.

In 2006 Trinity bought Biomerieux's coag for $50MM. Four years later they sold it to Stago for $90+MM. Stago renamed it T-Coag. To pay that kind of money for what they got was a desperate move.

While things are far from perfect like any company, we've made very good progress despite what you write. In fact, the results clearly show that in the latest report you have referenced (MD B) that Stago is the best in Coag. Your mention about us working hard. Yes, FSG is working hard. Please don 't speak for us regarding how we should feel, we are fine. We hope you find the strength to channel your energy into something positive to advance yourself.

I don't think it was HR. This is from the T-Coag component. They were "trained" to work on Stago instruments but they haven't yet. Something always seems to come up. In the mean time those Stago FSEs trained on T-Coag are being run into the ground. Anyone from T-Coag is being treated as if they are the salvation of the world. Almost sounds like Barack Obama.
It seems that some of the T-Coag boys were trying to change the SOPs. Is that the reason why the RA/QA Director is no longer there? because he said "NO"?

Agreed. I've been a field engineer for quite a few years and I think Stago is a good company to work for. We have some great customers, and I work with some of the best people I've met in the business.
I think the hateful comments made about people in these posts proves that the people writing them are just very bitter.

I just heard about this

I just heard about this thread the other day and came here to say that Stago is not a bad place to work. Have there been hiccups? Of course, there are with any company, but I know of very few people who are as angry as the posts here seem to indicate.
I've been with Stago for a while now and I honestly believe the earlier post about the negativity of this thread being the result of a few disgruntled people is correct. I wouldn't put it past one or two guys who were fired this year to be behind most of these posts.
If you are considering joining Stago you may want to find a way to talk to guys who are really out there in the field. Never base your opinions on anonymous Internet posts that could be from anyone. Make your own decisions based on research.
Now watch as more anonymous people belittle me and call me names for coming here to share my opinion.

When a director of one

When a director of one department {ASG} uses his employees to target the employees of another department(FSG) in an effort to settle a long term pissing contest between the two, corporations begin to crumble.

And then when this director begins to fan the flames and pit the customer against another department to gain personal power - things get really stinky and actually jeopardize all.

Hoisting the red flag for the good of the company is one thing, but to fan the flames in order to foment customers when a small problem is easily resolved is treasonous. Grounds for dismissal if not more.

This small resolvable problem resulted into a dysfunctional service department, two directors, over 300 collective years of field experience departing and an inexperienced puppet poser kid taking over duties in which he had no business taking over.

Plus the blowing of the whistle to the FDA only to pressure the other Director to leave. The wrong man left and the political poser who had no experience in the industry other than that of being a customer/end user prior to Stago was left terrorizing the Field service department. He and his inner circle of prima donnas parade around and are rouge and unaccountable. There are some good eggs in his department who know and see what is going on, but don't temp the king - keep your job and shut your mouth. Pride is a terrible thing.

Meanwhile the hands off French CEO is oblivious to what his roly poly Napoleon Bonaparte pillsbury doughboy wannabe is doing to his company. The CEO, unapproachable and secluded from the real world and the TRUTH of what is happening in the wonderful merry world of Stago has placed the fox in charge of the hen house - Chickens are dying....

Stago said they went to the

Stago said they went to the new Iphone to save money. Since the allowance we got was a write off and the "new plan" is as well, there's no change for them. However the loss of the personal cell allowance and internet allowance will be a net loss for the employee. Since I can't use my new phone for personal use I need to carry 2 phones. Since the company isn't paying for my internet access I need to pay it. That would be about an additional $1800 out of my pocket. It wouldn't be too bad if they didn't dumb down the end of year reviews so they could drop the annual raise. So the company makes out and we get screwed again. Every time we got "new laptops" was because they were bought on clearance and were being obsoleted. Even the software we have is no longer supported by microsoft. You can bet the same is true for these phones. Cheap, cheap, cheap.
I'm glad that IT said they wouldn't use the new phones for tracking but their policy says they can trace anything on company property. Check out any of the Apps on a smart phone, the owner of the service,Stago, can track any phone in the service without the users knowledge or permission.
With managements record of truth telling, and the crap that's come down I have a difficult time accepting that.

Just remember Big Brother is watching.

I am so glad! Stago is finally getting us Iphones so we can give up our personal cell phones and internet access. What did you say? Now they can track where we are and what we do? Management won't do that, will they? They're looking out for us the best way they can.

So I can't have a headset, I'm sure Stago will pay the ticket for using a cell phone in a hands free area. You can't get ATT service where you live? I'm sure they'll be understanding why you didn't get the important calls for dispatches. They might tell you to move to another area.

Remember, everyone in NJ knows what its like in the field so you know they're looking after you and not their wallet.

Things at Beckman Coulter suck since Danaher took over...all of us FSEs are looking for other jobs...some have gone to Stago and some to IL...I am interviewing with IL and Stago now...management sucks everywhere so just get used to it...but beckman doesnt pay for shit...Stago and IL pay better for easier work...soon there will be plenty of beckman job openings...we will all switch places with each other and everyone will still complain about management and lack of R&D...

Of those departed Service Engineers (cities) listed below, each of them have earned Service Engineer of the year award at least once. But you would not know this because you were flailing around trying to keep a failing product afloat (before Stago bailed your butt out) when this happened.

This is a sign of someone who has some serious issues. Actually it sounds like someone from T-Coag who just realized he's getting screwed by Stago and has no where to go. This also sounds like the newly annointed "yes" man from T-Coag who lives in Michigan. His unintelligent ravings can also be found on another blog about IL. He doesn't even know that Stago has a policy of not trying to retain anyone who leaves for any reason, and they don't rehire you either.

This is a prime example of the "new" management at Stago. No wonder the count of FSEs leaving goes up every week. Who will service the systems then?

Remember, employees are customers too. We all have interdepartmental customers and one of the main roles of management and in house support is to facilitate the field employees so that they may better serve their customers in the field. The in house prima donna's of Stago have lost touch with the whole understanding of what 2nd level support is. ASG and their arrogant attitudes of "privileged son" mentality is going to bite them square in the ass.

The chicken has come home to roost and these mamsey pamsey self serving prima donnas are going to need to do a gut check because this extreme loss of outstanding talent is going to hurt Stago.

Oh well, perhaps these T-Coag hot shots can save their collective butts. Or send that wet behind the ears green horn out to blow up some more back-planes while driving in his Porsche. lmao!!
