The new law will cover loopholes for gun show sales and internet sales. And basically that is it. The sales between private individuals has been deleted from the current Senate version. There are no limitations on assault weapons or mega-clips. The background checks look for people with criminal records already, people with severe mental health issues, wife-beaters, etc. It is hard to believe that anyone would want such people to be carrying weapons around anywhere they wanted. That's why 90 % of Americans support this most trivial of all proposed regulation.
