correct; in real terms, inclusive of lay-offs and restructuring, the actual arithmetic equates to just under 3 billion/year in research cuts. But thats Pfizer, why let the truth get in the way of good bullshit.

Yes, but you do realize that Pfizer is big enough to 'buy' those new drugs versus R&D'ing them! The rumor that we hear around the New London campus is that we (PFE) is turning into one big, fat marketing company...
Have you noticed all of the 'joint ventures' being created? A partnership with this company and with that company...?
By 2012, Pfizer will be the company to go to for selling drugs - not for researching, developing and manufacturing!
