The real deal is to pretend that Medi is productive ! So what if the antibodies are pure sh*t and the clinical trials are cr*p. Oooh and Aaah - say MedImmune must be the best biotech in the WORLD. Repeat out loud "MedImmune invented antibodies" then try "MedImmune invented protein expression" then try "MedImmune has the best biotech pipeline in the Universe" then say "Bahiji is a GENIUS"

Once you can say these lines without laughing...then you are ready to interview at MedImmune

The whole Medi hiring process wreaks of discrimination, favoritism and nepotism, obviously very, very unfair and dehumanizing. If you are not a friend of friend or related in some way to existing employees they simply look you over to check off some boxes with their ridiculous behavioral Interviewing and later reject your talent. The place is stagnant now and plenty of people protecting their turf in those tiny, tiny cubicles they have for their mgmt staff. Kinda funny while on the interview to see how cramped and with little space these poor people are given. Guess they want you to stand up while there on the job. Kinda like hooking up a phone and computer in your closet... LOL. Place is toxic so keep clear.

Read some of the other posts in this thread. It appears that it's not a very good company to work for, their vetting/interview process appears sloppy. Must be a growing trend, for the most part the entire biotech industry has ceased to be a good place to work.

Medimmune really needs to revamp their hiring practices. Very unprofessional, lengthy and ridiculously unneccessary. Glad I did not take the offer. Dodge another one.!

They favor and typically select just minorities. They seem to relish in all that they put you thorough in their lengthy drawn out selection process. Their dependence on "Behavioral" type interviews puts the candidate at a great disadvantage. It was my experience that their discriminatory practices are freely but cleverly practiced and in place for all those BUT younger non-white females. Maybe not worth the effort if you happen to be on the opposite end of this with their unbalanced and unfair playing field there in MediVille.

They do the same thing over at Life Technologies, their distribution center in particular, the place is over run with Burmese and all kinds of Hispanics neither of which speak very good English.

oh, they also practice age discrimination but seem to be getting away with it up to this point. Hard to make a legal case for this but it is obvious that they are doing just that.

I am in my late forty with 25 years of experience in engineering. I applied for 3 positions in Gaithersburg. I met all the qualifications, but yet still get turn down via Mediummune automated messages. In other board, it was indicated that Astra Zeneca may be having a hiring freeze while pondering restructure. Can someone confirm this?

MedImmune is part of AZ and AZ is definitely not growing fast! There may be a bit of strategic investment heading the way of MedImmune but it is definitely not due to growth. The future of the whole of AZ is uncertain to say the least due to expiring patents and falling revenues so if you apply to MedImmune do it with your eyes open.

AZ. Equals danger. Stay away.
