Since Danaher and IL have parted ways, can the separation with Horiba be far behind? I know the hospital market reps stopped selling the AcT5 (Pentra in disguise)several years back. Does BCI still get new AcT5 systems from Horiba, or are they selling old inventory?

I first saw Kelly's work at
I first saw Kelly's work at my cousins wedding in NY. She blended right into the wedding, I hardly noticed her taking all the amazing pictures. But when I saw the final results I knew I had to have her photograph my wedding. Kelly traveled from NY to MA for my wedding and I was beyond thrilled with the results. I didn't worry about a thing. She got to my house and went right to work, I loved that when I saw the proofs I had no idea that she captured certain things and I was overjoyed that she did. You cant be everywhere at your own wedding but Kelly managed to be. Wedding Photographer Cambridge
I am a current Beckman
I am a current Beckman Coulter employee. The Chinese "AcT" failed FDA approval. The AcT 8/10, AcT Diff and AcT Diff2 are American made, but are 3 part diff result analyzers only. The AcT 5Diff (a 5 part diff analyzer) is French manufactured with the Beckman Coulter skin as stated in an earlier post. This analyzer is more enticing due to its size in smaller hospitals, stand along ER's, and is a lot less bulkier than the BCI mid size analyzer, the LH 500. That is true that Horiba/ABX manufactures the Pentra and is still manufacturing it for the US. Recently in the fall of 2012, the state of Texas has sold, installed, and services over 25 new AcT 5diff series analyzer. As an engineer, I don't like this analyzer. The French manufacture of one of the reagents and controls has quality issues and flags normal blood. There is a quality issue on both the analyzer and the reagents. It's a challenge for us in the field. When asked by a customer on an analyzer they want to replace, I recommend that they look past the analyzer and don't look back!

The 'partnership' with ABX
The 'partnership' with ABX was based on two factors;
1) ABX could make their systems for a fraction of the price BC could make the Act Diff for
2) ABX couldn't sell bread to a starving man
Guess it took BC a while to realise what every bloke on the street corner could have told them. Cheap stuff is usually cheap for a reason.
Thank Elias Caro for the dumb shit relationship.

I don't know exactly that Beckman Coulter still sell abx hematology instruments, but i think he sell it because this is very well known company for selling medical instruments in market. I will tell you about it confidently when i will take some help from assignment UK firm for completing my medical assignment.
What a load of jibberish
For the anonymous poster of
For the anonymous poster of Sat, 21/07/2012 - 02:42. I heard from the BCI rep in the booth that the Mindray (Chinese) project was dead. There is another string on this topic saying the 3-part diff from Mindray didn't work and was abandoned. Rumors also stated there were patent issues.
Anyone know the whole story? Please share.
Service is awful in the US no
Service is awful in the US no matter who you buy from. It is now approaching, dare I say, EU standards. Don't blame the providers, blame the customers for accepting it. All a large core lab would have to do is tie in the lease and reagent cost to up time. Service issues solved!
THE BCI can't even maintain
THE BCI can't even maintain the AU series instrument, how they will maintain the chinese instruments? Numbers of AU Instrument replace by other companies due to bad service and poor response of BCI.
complete disaster to come.
complete disaster to come. they can't fix their own instruments how will they fix Chinese instruments
The deal with Horiba is that
The deal with Horiba is that BCI re-skins the Pentra to sell it as a Beckman Coulter product. BCI/Danaher will not spend more money on R&D for hematology instruments so they are buying from other manufacturers (watch for a re-branded Chinese instrument coming soon) for the doctor's offices/small labs for costing cutting purposes.
