Dako is extremely Top Heavy with all the VPs and CVPs. I think it is time for LM to move on as people day by day respect her less and fear her more. She has always ran Dako by putting in fear to hearts of everyone who works there and that is usually not a sign of good management skills.

One good thing is they hired a new young GM sitting on top of Sales (LM) and R&D(FA). It is funny how LH pulled most CVP from Dako into DGG but not LM. Its gonna be interesting to see how things unfolds. FA sounds promising but I sure hope he pulls off all the Dead Weight

Omnis looks good but its like a mini van. Hugh!!! and is made to focus on Large customers. I have heard you require atleast 30 thousand IHC slides to qualify for the $180000+ instrument.

I understand why Dako did this because they were on verge of losing their Big customers but this kinda sends a screw off message to the smaller customers.

As usually they dont plan their releases so now they have to wait for FDA to approve certain stains.

on new Dako instrument demo at USCAP our managers were impressed, our histologists were not. We are not getting one until it has been out two years and issues fixed.

The Omnis is just a Tekan worked up and warmed over with pretty buttons. Can it run research assays, and is it open? Are all the FDA cleared assays available on it?

Labs will need to keep an old Dako instrument to run Herceptest as it won't be available on the Omnis for a year! Great launch plan........typical Dako screw up.

Agilent are not stupid.. they'll push out the idiots and dead wood from Dako quickly enough, drive the bottom line through their solid supply chain/procurement discipline and push the top line with aggressive distribution. Its the same formula as they used with Varian and I'm sure it will happen again with the next loosely structured and underachieving company they acquire.
