The Omni is a tank, won't be many labs that need that kind of throughput let along have doors big enough to get it through. Feeble attempt to stem the loss of business to Leica and Roche.

We all recognised the "new" stainer from Dako – it is neither new nor competitive.
It was launched +9 years ago as the Tecan Freedom EVO 75 GenePaint. Nobody liked it, nobody used it. It has just got a new Dako skin and logo. It is basically a research laboratory workstation with Shandon flow through slide cassettes.
Not suited for a modern AP workflow. Please get back to the drawing board.

We visited the Dako stainer showroom. The circle is full: Dako goes back to the ill-fated Evolution stainer from 1997 with disposable plastic cassettes - now with an overhead robot arm instead of a circular robot from Zymark. I was really disappointed. It looks like a research lab instrument.
It is a slow system and it is difficult to reproduce the staining in the single use plastic cassettes. Who wants another plastic consumable to be assembled around each slide?
I feel sorry for them. Great reagents, great legacy - no system, no future.

Does it really matter what they do at this point? Nothing left of this carcass other than incompetent douche bags and second raters with over inflated egos.

Dako? New Stainer? Will probably be like the "ErrorDan" The only thing they did right with that was to not flood the market with them and subject the customers to a lot of headaches...The "new" intelliPATH by Biocare won't be out for 2+ years...If BioGenex could pull their head out of a very uncomfortable place their I6000 and new Xmatrx seem pretty cool.

Absolutely not. At Aperio, Senior Mgt. threatened and intimidated their direct reports because of their drunken affairs among members of the "opposite sex".

Yes - next year. Stainings look promising indeed. Dako has learned from the past and will not go to market untill ready. Bulletproof ready; 2013-14 depending on geography. Apart from the box itself, innovative reagent technology could bring Dako back to be the most interesting partner for the future. I for one will hold my investments for a while.
Neither true. Contact Dako
