From many years ago, Izasa has been the company who has distributed and have given support of the BC products in Spain.
Today we have been informed that BC has broken the contract and in a few months, BC will be installed in Spain.
BC & Izasa Spain-Broken contract

These 3rd party distribution
These 3rd party distribution agreements have always been pretty unstable. IL initially handled the transition very poorly without consideration for customers with existing contracts with BCI. Now, there is a situation with IRIS and Arkray.
I decided to move away from IL because their service support is extremely poor and poorly coordinated. IL also had a bit arrogance with their products. Yes, the reagents are pretty good, but their ACL elite and ACL TOP has a high failure rate. The TOP 500 has performed better than the TOP because of improved internal design improvements.
We moved to STAGO and yes, their products are not new but they are reliable.
Goodbye IL! Your hope that you will increase your US revenue will go down in flames. I already know several local hospitals that have or will make the move to switch to STAGO.
Guess IL showed up the
Guess IL showed up the doubters. Must be a relief to shed the burden of a BCI and their layers of management.
Perhaps DHR won't give IL the
Perhaps DHR won't give IL the contracts in this high stakes game of poker DHR likes to play?? Heard we can send our contract to IL directly to make sure we are in their system as DHR isn't playing nice.Think I'll be upping my on hand stock until the end of the year and asking to ship the remainder of my sequester now so I'm not down in case DHR screwed this up too!
I think time will prove
I think time will prove danaher are the arrogant idiots not IL
Do you really know what you
Do you really know what you are talking about?
'Remember that customers and
'Remember that customers and patients should have the utmost priority'
shareholders have the utmost priority
What a bunch of arrogant
What a bunch of arrogant idiots IL who think they can switch over contracts in a very short span of time. After the flood gates open with customers dumping their coag instruments for the competition, they'll realize their stupidity.
My first prediction will be that they will lose track of the sequestered lots; next, service will have a poor response time.
Get back to the table with Danaher and suck it up. Same for Danaher. Remember that customers and patients should have the utmost priority.
IL contracts a third party to
IL contracts a third party to service blood gas in North America, they only have a few specialists that liaison with the third party on the more difficult problems.
Il probably will hire 200
Il probably will hire 200 people. In addition, IL already has a field service in US supporting blood-gas instruments, so they can be trained from now on coag.
Work for BCI. We have been
Work for BCI. We have been told we can't contact Anyone at IL to get answers to help them with the transition. BCI doesnt realise customers will be lining up to sue them if this isn'It well transitioned. DHR needs to lose the ego and quit acting like a baby. Patient lives are at stake here!!
yeah...he said she said
yeah...he said she said scenario. Everyone is trying to spin it in their favor.

uhmmmmm???? The Werfen´s CEO say quite the opposite. it is like a soap opera!!!Who tell the true?
"this change will cause a
"this change will cause a massive problem in service"
Sounds like DHR doesn't like being told no and is cranking up the spin machine.
this change will cause a
this change will cause a massive problem in service of the exsisting customer base in the USA, IL are saying they can cover the USA with 50 additional engineers!!! Do they not know this is the USA which is geographically 70 times larger than Italy!!!! I look forward to being told that we need to wait three days for my service engineer in Texas to arrive because he is driving across the whole state, or maybe with each engineer will come his own lear jet in order to shorten response times!!! I have contacted IL and of course been reassured but honestly they do not know what they are doing.
It is interesting that both
It is interesting that both sides are claiming their innocence in the abrupt severing of ties. I've heard that DHR have been trying to contact IL without success and IL is saying that DHR is walking away in June without consideration for a longer transition.
Regardless of the blame, labs who have ACL equipment may be concerned about the change in contracting and also whether or not IL can provide an adequate level of service. Hiring 50 additional service personnel may not satisfy the coverage for all 50 states. This will probably increase wait times for service.
Does anyone know what will
Does anyone know what will happen in Spain and Portugal? BC has no direct presence in these two markets. How will they will the maintenance of business?
It is nescient to think that
It is nescient to think that IL did not try for a longer transition. It was DHR that abruptly refused after giving the impression they would be interested in assisting in a better transition. DHR put “bean counting” in front of existing customers (and their own staff that are eager to jump ship). IL has always been more committed and focused on customers. They continually invest to meet customer needs. They are not a public company thus not bound by the need to make public shareholders happy with EPS. You can’t grow on average over 10% a year (over year) especially through hard economic times if you are inconsistent.
Werfen owners have the upmost integrity and commitment to being a world leader and this is just the latest proof they are willing to serve the market to get there.
Werfen Group is preparing the
Werfen Group is preparing the service asintance in USA for IL´s product.Althoug they don´t have so much time( 22nd June)Werfen has contacted with many user in USA and they have prepared more than 50 people to start at 22nd to give them the better support as possible.
In the beginning of the conversations, Werfen tried to do a transition as much better possible, with collaboration, but BCI(or Danaher) doesn´t answer to any question since last 3 weeks (Werfen tried many times always without answer from Danaher).
The service asistance in Spain, is waiting what happen. Is time Danaher do next step....
The other vendors can swoop
The other vendors can swoop all they want and peddle the "antiques" they try to sell. Stago has the Compact and Evolution, both of which were born in the last century..On the other side Siemens will try to make you buy a CA-1500, or BCS, again last century products. We selected IL because their systems are modern creations that run well. We never regretted our decision to buy the IL products and are not concerned at all about the change. It always seemed whenever I had a question, I could never get an immediate answer anyway from Beckman. They always had to contact IL. With the change the "middleman" will now be out of the picture...you can't go wrong with eliminating the middleman. Stago always touts their superiority by not having a middleman and now IL will be able to as well.
On the comments about ACL's
On the comments about ACL's reliability, only one comment; LOL
It is arrogant for a company
It is arrogant for a company to quickly severe their long standing distribution and service agreement with any company. There should have been a longer transition period, instead of 6 weeks.
Yes, IL reagents are better but the quality of the ACL Elite and ACL Top is unreliable. There is an improvement with the TOP500 however.
Does anyone know the US market share for the coag companies? This is an opportunity for other non-IL vendors to swoop in!
Don't be so positive IL won't
Don't be so positive IL won't have support staff in place. Remember who trained BC to service and support the products. Fact is any experienced field service engineer can learn quickly how to perform basic service. and any complicated issue in the past BC would always rely on IL to bail them out. As for the technical support side, same thing. IL developed the assays. In the past 10 years, more than all other competitors combined. That is not going to change. IL has the expertise today. And who taught BC how to support? That’s right…. IL! To the person that claims they will go to STAGO because of this, you can’t change the basic premise that the IL products are superior.
I´m a Technician in
I´m a Technician in Werfen(Izasa) Spain and it is my opinion:
Werfen have been working with BC many years and Werfen never didn´t like broke off the alliance, the problem is Danaher.
Some months ago, Danaher gave Werfen an offer to buy them, but Werfen didn´t like.
The Danaher´s plans are weaken Werfen (IL) in order to buy then, how?
Last meetings between Werfen and Dahaner, Danaher has increased the price of the BC instrument to reduce the Werfen´s benefits. In this Situation, Wefen can´t sell the instruments with enough margin and this situation would be good for Danaher( in order to buy then). In this point, Werfen has decided don´t continue with the alliance.
In a few weeks (maybe months) we will see what happen.
I think IL thinks they can
I think IL thinks they can generate more revenue by selling direct. Their deficiency will be the fact that they will not have the field service and customer support in place by the June 22nd transition date. My guess is that Danaher will negoitate a softer landing of 6 months for the separation. IL stated that they will take over existing contracts from Beckman.
Well, IL doesn't realize that they will lose a lot of COAG business by moving away from Beckman. We're going to move to STAGO because of this.
iL broke it off....it was a
iL broke it off....it was a gravy train of income for bc in hemp stasis...what becomes of the support staff? Maybe il will absorb?
