I hear that there are management changes at the ATCC. What is going on there?
Well, if that is true, then it is up to those licensors and customers to initiate litigation against ATCC.
IT IS TRUE, AND IT IS UP TO US, AND WE ARE.
ALMOST AS BAD AS BIO EXPRESS FOR STEALING CLONES.
ATCC is under investigation for fraud.
They have presented intellectual property to customers and tried to pass it off as their own.
They have lied and defrauded OTT personnel on multiple occasions. These are all documented.
ATCC is morally bankrupt. It might as well be China.
There is a long history of fraud and lies perpetrated against licensors and customers.
These sticky little details can be described as ILLEGAL, in the criminal sense.
The person who keeps posting about the SEC is misinformed. ATCC is not a publicly-traded company, it is a privately-owned company; therefore the SEC has zero jurisdiction. In the US, people like RC and the Board of Directors have the right to run the company however well or poorly they want. Now, if it's true as some have posted, that RC used ATCC funds or workforce to personal gain, than the IRS could audit HIM as an individual for failing to claim income received. If government contract monies were collected improperly, than the government could take action against fraud. But the SEC can do nothing.
The "get on with your lives" author is a know-nothing, patronizing, worthless hypocrite.

If you've got all the proof, take it to the SEC and get RC taken off to jail. Problem solved. This "company" is the biggest con-job on earth. How many layers of lies?

Actually, the, "get on with your lives" author (me) happens to be a fellow victim of the "Brian-gate" scandal, and quite frankly, I'm frustrated with this thread.
Employees need a place to vent their frustrations? How about to the Board? How about to people who could change the culture there once and for all? No. That could result in the loss of their jobs...at the company they're venting about....that they seemingly hate. If you hate it there so much, leave. It's very simple. If you can't leave, suck it up and resign yourself to the fact that, at some level, you're a sellout. And if you're okay with that, fine. It's your business; we all need to make a living. But empty complaining--complaining without action toward change--is useless.
There is nothing that we former employees of ATCC can do for those who remain, and pleading to us to find a way to make the current staff more aware of this thread (because we're "safe" from the wrath of Cypess) infuriates me to no end. How weak can the collective disgruntled staff be? If you can't be the change you want to see, then please, stop anonymously complaining on a biotech rumor mill thread and get on with your lives.

LOL - I wondered why I had such an interesting spike in LinkedIn profile views, including individuals in ATCC HR. (yes, this is Belinda, btw). Haven't been here in a long time because I do have a post-ATCC life that is quite wonderful. I see that some of the most interesting posts have been removed (twinkle twinkle lyrics - darn I wish I'd copy/pasted them - those were sheer brilliance), so someone's quite obsessed with this board. Doesn't take much of an IQ to figure out a short list of suspects given facts in evidence.
Anyway, I posted the link on my profile because I got tired of fielding questions from my network of contacts and because it might be years before someone could post a recommendation via LinkedIn without fear of retaliation and this seemed like a great independent corroboration along with having a fair amount of entertainment value - although with so many of the posts removed, that has declined.
So, I agree with the sentiments posted about retribution for a mass email and understand why some need to have an outlet for frustration. I can probably guess the author of "get on with your lives" poster based on timing of a visit to my profile and the time stamp of the post and I can understand that person having a vested interest in traffic slowing down here. Must take some time getting certain posts removed from the site, eh? Well, sorry, can't say you have much sympathy from me. The rest of you (except about a dozen of the incumbents) do have my sympathy - and many of you also have my respect. Best success to you and I hope our paths cross again under fair skies. Cheers!
Whoa! Don't read it if you're not interested. I'll grant you that this thread currently doesn't contain much new, but it is a healthy outlet for employees who feel trapped and cheated by a mean-spirited CEO and his useless board of puppets.
Speaking of the board, heard one of them is coming to work at ATCC. If it's true, I wonder how long that was in the works. No good can come out of it.

You can't wake up the brain dead. And while the Board of Directors may not be totally asleep, they are RHC's sycophants whose chief concern is not the business, but how well RHC is stroked. A pathetic excuse for a BoD. Face it, this place is hopeless.

Electronic data is vulnerable to seeing the light of day. Evil craves the darkness to disguise itself and instill fear; therefore, it abhors anything that could automate tasks and disseminate information more easily. RHC and his ilk are just plain evil.

Now that FS is only there 3 days a week, I doubt he'd make such requests. He's been checked out for a while.
This is what a day in the life of FS at ATCC looks like: Amble to the copy room multiple times throughout the day, make doofy small talk with anyone in the hallway, park at the coffee machine for a while, follow RHC around like a puppy dog when he's there, argue with TS LOUDLY over stupid things, and then go home.
Rumor had it that there was a board member who pushed back on RHC - Dr. Peter Hotez, of the Sabin Institute. Pretty illustrious reputation which was supposed to be why they wanted him on the BOD in the first place. Not clear what the details were but they forced him off the board.
ATCC used to have suggestion boxes. HR mgmt took them down.
And I know for a FACT that HR will check the times people badge in and out on C's request - or the request of other senior mgmt like FS. If FS gets his knickers in a twist that someone isn't "putting in his time" he'll go after them with a vengeance. I've seen him do it and it doesn't matter how senior they are.

I've worked at another non-profit and they behave in a similar way: The leader (in this case, the Executive Director) was tyrannical, abusive to employees, made promises she wouldn't keep, destroyed morale, and had an excessive turnover rate, especially in her department. The Board didn't care because she did whatever they wanted and she made the company money. Sound familiar?
How about letting the employees have a question and answer session with the board members - or even just senior management? Why would this not happen? Do the employees not have a right to know exactly what is going on? I am curious how other real non-profit organizations run. What are the checks and balances that are in place?
I have requested a suggestion box within the past week, so the employees who are afraid to speak up can have their voices heard. I suppose time will tell if that's something that is wanted or if they truly don't care what anyone thinks or wants to know.
The board doesn't want to know. They don't even want ATCC employees to know who the board members are. Do you really think they want to have to answer for their actions--ignoring ATCC's progress under BP's leadership, and leaving the organization with an old lizard in charge?
What would it take to let the BOD know that RHC is out of touch? We are so behind in technology, development, and management, it is embarassing.

Is the non profit status that ATCC enjoyed all these years justified?
The company's funds are being used as an expense account for an outrageous salary, travel ("business vacation") and meals for the CEO (RHC) and his wife. In any other organization mismanagement of business expenses results in an independent investigation and the firing of the executive.
At ATCC, numerous letters to the BOD as well as (a very recent) whisle blower -with a long list of eveidence and affidavits relevant to company's fund embezelemnt, SEC and GSA violations by RHC---!!!! was quickly shut up with a very handsome settlement. There will be additional whisle blowers coming down the pipe. The problem was not solved.
It will be interesting to see when will the BOD decide to finally do the right thing and perform a formal, INDEPENDENT investigation of RHC's affairs. Unlike the previous "investigation" in the recent whistle blower case that was left to the lawyer to work on burying the claims with the corrupt CEO (RHC).
The IRS should be notified of the above and ATCC's non profit tax status should be revoked. Mismanaging expenses in a non for profit organization is a federal offense and we, the tax payers, are paying for it
So, Dr. C. makes $1M a year at a company at which he barely works, perpetuating employment for his other semi-retired "minions" with no end dates in sight, coerces anyone who works with him to become his "spy" and report details back to him so that he can find ways to "eliminate" positions in order to weed out people he feels can't be manipulated into being loyal to him, and then circulates rumors about the former president weaseling a settlement out of ATCC so that he can live in a mansion in Charlottesville? Now THAT'S a leader you can TRUST. *eyeroll*

There is a rumor going around ATCC deliberately started by NW, the evil head of HR, and Dr. C's work-wife. This rumor says that Dr. P is building a mansion in Charlottesville. I guess people are supposed to believe that he planned to only work for a short time, get a settlement, and then live the easy life. Who would believe such garbage? Really--it's Dr. C who has a car and driver at his beck and call. The two of them must be filled with hate and jealousy to even bother with this stuff.
