Any experience with Danaher?

I'm looking to get a job with Beckman Coulter/Danaher. Any thoughts in terms of what's currently happening right now with them?

I work for Danaher in another

I work for Danaher in another division and all that I can tell you is to run away and don't look back. Unless you currently don't have a job, look elsewhere.

Already announced that the

Already announced that the next new product development center will be in China.

Danaher sucks; they know it

Danaher sucks; they know it and they do not care, as long as the cash is flowing.
Look what they did to Fluke Electronics, Comark Instruments, Tektronix, etc. They
are dismantling and destroying American jobs and economic security faster than
any terrorist group could. But corporate karma will eventually prevail, and their
ill gotten gains will choke them all, including that silver spooned ass wipe Larry Culp.

You're assuming RC can launch something. Otherwise, it's an excellent suggestion.

Oh fuck

2016 my life ends

I hear that their flagship

I hear that their flagship product line, the DxC analyzer, is going end of life in 2016 with nothing behind it. No future there.

Yeah Creager has been a royal

Yeah Creager has been a royal pain ever since he came out of the cesspit. He's there #1 hatchet man. As long as you can put some space (i.e. the Thai sales office) between you and Chaska the better.

I worked for MD in 2012 and

I worked for MD in 2012 and we were going under big time. We had lots of problems with two of our new products... we couldnt get them to perform at demos. Either they would fail out of the box or they would just give crappy data. I suppose I was one of the lucky ones because I used to have a 'special relationship' with the global marketing director.. It started on my first month when it was explained about a 'fast track' they wanted to put me on for marketing. Basically they forced me to enter a marketing competition and she kept telling me what I should enter... Then they started asking me for 121 sessions to develop key skills. I thought that was strange but then she always used to say to learn the hard lessons first. Just like for demos they used to say the same thing.. In the 121 sessions she was really helpful, but I thought it was unfair because my other colleagues were not getting the same opportunities. In the end I thought, hey Im a young girl maybe I shuld just go with the flow and make the most of it. Anyway... One day she had to take a call and left me in her office with her ipad and she got a message from one of the other marketing guys, which seemed rather personal and directed at me. The details of the message were quite explicit and it appears she had been screwing him in her office. He wanted me to leave as soon as possible and he was telling her to get ready for "his sweet ring". She came back in the room and I was holding her ipad.... another message arrived... I could have died!! Lucky the sound was off.

After that there was a reshuffle and she decided to start teaching me how to stick my tongue up her ass. She used to tape up my nose and pass wind into my mouth until I got a bubble of MD ass-cum. I would swallow that and get a pay rise. The problem was she used to sit me down and she would get up high on the desk and squat over an MD bowl. She would force a turd hard, like she was hyperventilating out of her ass. The turd would stink, but she used to make me poor warm milk over it and hold a spoon in my hand while watching inspector gadget on her ipad. Some days she would wear a ring clip piercing through her clit and she would fasten it to my neck with an MD neckbrace. She told me if I ever ripped her clit she would shit so hard in my mouth it would fill my throat full of MD turd and I would be fired.

I said no and left.

Great work...

Do you need to do product photography? I know a new photography tool that you might be interested. You only need an iPhone to make great product photos.

I don't mean to ruin your page but I think I should share this because nothing out there could do something like this.

Thanks and have a great one!

[Wonder how many will end up interviewing at companies where people they ran out over the last few years established themselves.]

Paybacks are a bitch!

"Life is absolute hell for BC

"Life is absolute hell for BC middle managers"

Couldn't happen to a more deserving group. Wonder how many will end up interviewing at companies where people they ran out over the last few years established themselves.
"You used to work at Beckman. Do you know this guy?"
"Well as a matter of fact I do ..."

"Life is absolute hell for BC

"Life is absolute hell for BC middle managers"

Dude check ur mood elevator.

Anybody have an estimate on what % of management personnel is left over from before DHR wrote the check?

Whose blood is being let now?

Blood-letting continues. Now

Blood-letting continues. Now pulling Danaher robots into the managerial mix on the LS side. Life is absolute hell for BC middle managers...be sure to have a seat when the muzak stops!

I'm wondering if there might

I'm wondering if there might be some interest with Danaher to buy some aspect of Ortho Clinical diagnostics...at least for the IP for infectious disease testing and the blood banking market. An estimated sale price of 5 billion for OCD would be a little too much, especially since they do not have much of the IVD market anyway.

Beckman for sale? I doubt it.

Beckman for sale?

I doubt it. Who in their right mind would pay six billion for Bec at this point.

Beckman was at its minimal competency and after Danaher took over it has gotten worse. DBS can go so far and daily management nonsense can do so much. It will never replace the need of redesign or reformulation of the junk Beckman produces. I would never consider working for another organization like this one.

"wonder if they plan to keep

"wonder if they plan to keep LS since it fits their portfolio much better"

If you sell DX you have to sell the brand name 'Beckman Coulter' with it. LS products could be absorbed by other similar DHR divisions but Bec LS may be history if not bundled with DX.

Don't know if they are

Don't know if they are "cleaning house" again, I think it is the exodus from a truly toxic company. I left just recently and have not felt this good in the last two years. DBS needs to be reviewed again by HBR now that they've run Beckman into the ground. Heard there was an article in Wall Street journal about DBS selling BCI - wonder if they plan to keep LS since it fits their portfolio much better.

It seems to me I see the current situation of QIAGEN's employees
Greetings from Germany

Seems to be a lot of Danaher Beckman people contacting recruiters recently. Are they cleaning house again?

If you are competant enough

If you are competant enough to find a job else where then do so. If you have to eat and can not do any better, then take the job but understand that every one else is there for the same reason.

I'm looking to leave Beckman

I'm looking to leave Beckman asap!
This was a decent company before Danaher came along and ran it into the ground! I hear from customers that they did the same to Radiometer.
These clowns couldn't organize a 1 man parade without screwing it up!
Run away! Run away!

I spent several years in

I spent several years in upper management at a Danaher company and I can guarantee that the only thing most of my fellow managers were concerned with was making their bonus. If that meant stepping on a few underlings oh well! That's just business.
Sales people were treated as disposable pawns and service people were "just useless" DBS is used to justify employee abuse.
The incompetents rise to the top while everyone else pays the price.
I would never ever consider working for another Danaher company!

Flagged, huh? My comment must

Flagged, huh? My comment must have struck a nerve...sorry DHR/Bec HR-it wasn't my intention to stress you out and cause you to work. Just trying to help out someone doing due diligence in their job search with honest experience.

-the judging criteria are

-the judging criteria are never divulged to you-
your just a resource
the judging criteria is based on your value
high quality work good health lack of family recent birthdate are assets
pay insurance costs vacation are liabilities
over time liabilities increase and some assets will decrease
value = assets- liabilities
when liabilities>assets you find out during your review the judging criteria for you has changed
someone that does a mediocre job and gets paid at the bottom of the range will keep their job longer than someone that does an excellent job and gets paid in the top half of the range

Oh please keep up your job

Oh please keep up your job search! Danaher is toxic. Management arbitrarily "force ranks" team members effectively pitting them against one another. If you are not among the top ranks-and the judging criteria are never divulged to you--guess what? You are either going to be fired (or threatened with firing) or you throw your team members under the bus to save your own ass. Bottom line, if you have no conscience, no scruples, and love to screw over your friends, team, customers, or just anyone in general, Beckman/ Danaher is for you.

I'm looking to get a job with Beckman Coulter/Danaher. Any thoughts in terms of what's currently happening right now with them?

Oh, another tiresome thread

You know, ultimately it comes down to the immediate people you are working for. If your boss is an arrogant sociopath like mine was then the place will be miserable. If you can handle day to day corporate bs and sociopaths then go for it.

I'm looking to get a job with

I'm looking to get a job with Beckman Coulter/Danaher. Any thoughts in terms of what's currently happening right now with them?

Oh, another tiresome thread

Danaher "flattened" the

Danaher "flattened" the organization after the acquisition so that only 5 career levels are possible, but they left in place the VPs who caused Beckman's misfortune.

Why would anything be different under Danaher's management if the same incompetent Beckman VPs who instigated the current debacle remain?

The only people remaining at

The only people remaining at Danaher/Beckman after the aquisition are the ones who have no confidence in their abilities and the ones who are near retirement. The real "talent" has either moved on or they are at least looking and will be gone when the economy improves.

You don't want to work for

You don't want to work for Danaher, trust me. They took away Beckman's pension, severence package, retiree medical coverage... and that was just the first year after the aquisition.

Danaher sucks.

Danaher sucks.

Feel like a number? Welcome

Feel like a number?

Welcome to DHR!

All kidding aside if you hire in below middle management you will be looking for a different job sooner than later.

Now if you were asking about one of their products it is common knowledge most of them are of very poor quality and best avoided.

stay away: all people leave

stay away: all people leave or fired

Worked there are reviced some

Worked there are reviced some promotion, just left. Why? They use your energy: they give you some $ but you don't learn there at all.
Brend is poor. For me was the only my wrong choice in 25 year working year. Suggestion: if you don't have a job you can conisedr to go there but the day after look for a real job.

It will be too late to wake up tomorrow and see how this individuals use a man made crisis to clean their buts, with their bags full of money.

Wow. what a complete

Wow. what a complete misreading of the first amendment. It only pertains to federal government action. You do not have protected speech rights from a private company!

Danaher is hands down the

Danaher is hands down the worst job I ever took. I worked for Gilbarco (Danaher owned) as an Engineer for about 2 years, and I cannot even begin to tell you what a disaster the place is. Technology is stuck in the 1990's, as*hole managers will never give you a good review, even though you put in 70 hrs a week. Management pits one person against another, with constant psycological harassment (per DBS). It got to the point where I started doubting my own abilities. I had 4 different managers that came and went (fired). They will threaten you with layoffs, they will time your bathroom visits, they will make your life a living hell. Safety violations were rampant. If anyone is considering working for this company or one that is owned by them, don't!!

"The employee is just another

"The employee is just another expense in the eyes of Danaher."

No, the employee is just another expense in the eyes of all public companies. If a company butters its bread by focusing on the low price point of the market this is especially true.

Look what they have done to

Look what they have done to Radiometer. This was once a high quality Danish company with 40 years of being the best in Blood Gas.
Now the junk they are putting out has led them to the bottom!
I feel sorry for the Danes!

Having spent several years in

Having spent several years in upper management at a Danaher Life Sciences company I can tell you that DBS is a perfect system for creating a toxic environment! Although the pay scale is competitive the mental abuse you will suffer is not worth it! The only people that tend to stick around are the ones with the least amount of talent.
Probably one of top 10 worst companies to work for!
If you are desperate then by all means go for it. Otherwise I would run as fast as i could in the oposite direction!
The employee is just another expense in the eyes of Danaher.

If it's the best you can do

If it's the best you can do go for it.

Danaher is a great company

Danaher is a great company with plenty of opportunity, especially for young, ambitous, inexperienced employees.I agree just go for it.

Understand none of these

Understand none of these comments are from current DHR employees. DHR has strict rules about posting anything even remotely related to DHR. If you get caught you will be 'terminated with cause'.

It is sad that Danaher feels the need to take an action like this. If they really valued their "Associates" then a rule like this would never be necessary. If current employees are dumb enough to post from inside the corporate network then they deserve what ever they get. What they post from outside is protected speach under the first amendment.

If you are in R&D, it is not

If you are in R&D, it is not a good place. Just ask how much of the revenue Danaher is investing in R&D. It is not enough to compete and be successful.

If you have a MBA degree or young, it is a great place to work (and learn from mistakes).

Someone mentioned that things will get better after "getting rid of the whiners." Many of the "whiners" are now gone, but its business units seem to be sinking further. However, Danaher has cash and it will last at least a few more years.

Understand none of these

Understand none of these comments are from current DHR employees. DHR has strict rules about posting anything even remotely related to DHR. If you get caught you will be 'terminated with cause'.

So what you read here is from X-DHR. Most of which were let go because they were simply unneeded as the economy has shrunk or the business model changed. The ones who left on their own to pursue a better or different job aren't killing time posting here. Mostly venting, bitching going on here.

Right now though it's all about bird in the hand.
