Anyone know anything about this company?
I'd be interested in what people got paid, GC, Sales, AR, etc.
Want to learn about Ambry. Is Ambry profitable? Do they make money on their tests? How much revenue do they do per month? What are their most profitable tests?
Don't understand your post. I'm really not from Ambry and don't care who you are. Glad you were able to double your salary, sounds like your time at Ambry paid off then and your new employer valued that experience. that's what it's all about. Check out the Abbott board if you think layoffs are harsh. People on there were laid off after 20 years.
Hahahahhahaha not paranoid. I'll give you 3 chances.... One clue. I make 2x what I made at food stamp genetics
I follow several companies on this site just like most and was surprised to see Ambry. You must be new to biotech. Never met the Ambry CEO, but you seem like a paranoid person if you think everyone on this site has been sent here by him. You have a lot of complaints about how the company was run. Last time I check CA is an at will employment. If you left on your own and have these complaints then they may be valid. However, if you were part of the layoffs talked about on this board or were fired and only raise the complaints after the fact your comments are useless. Personally, it sounds like you need to get some help.
Wow never seen Ambry on this board before. I work at a diagnostic company not to far from Ambry. We don't offer the same type tests but we do employ several ex Ambry employees. Here are my thoughts and what I've heard about the company for those thinking of joining:
1. Surprised Ambry has survived this long. Not because of going out of business but because it hasn't been gobbled up by another company
2. known for top notch science
3. Think they have around 300 people
4. Have a good CLS training program
Don't know much about the layoffs or the CEO who seems to be popular on this site. I can tell you that I've been laid off 2 times in the past and it's just part of having a job. Also for the person asking about getting severance, nobody is doing that anymore. I got my PTO and a swift kick in the ass.
The comments about the CEO are amusing but you're wasting your time if you think a CEO of a company the size of AMbry is sitting home reading a site like this. it's funny when I read these boards of people bashing a CEO who has grown a successful company. For those of us interested in learning what's going on with the
company don't want to hear about all the grudges. Plus once your laid off nobody believes what is said anyways.
Keep drinking the blue Kool Aid!
Amen to that, "woman who has worked at Ambry for many years." I am relatively new to the company and industry as a whole, but I am surprised by Charlie's enthusiasm and willingness to talk with employees who are at the lowest end of the totem pole as if they were a senior board member. I get the sense that Charlie does what he thinks best for the company, including letting go of the least effective employees when finances become tough. Why are these posts focused on one man anyway? Isn't the quality of Ambry's tests/reporting more important to patient health than the personality traits of its CEO? I guess the scientific merits of exome and nextgen panel testing don't really belong on a message board like this anyway...
As a woman who has worked at Ambry for many years, I would like to combat this fictitious image that is being created about some drug-laden, sexually deviant CEO. I know Charlie well and he is a kindhearted and compassionate man who is passionate about what he does and has created an environment at Ambry where creative people who truly care about genetics get to make a difference. We have been able to work together as a fun and collaborative group to be the first clinical lab introduce a nextgen panel, first to launch exome, first to launch cancer panels - all of which have led to countless inspirational patient stories. Those of us who are still at Ambry love what we do and are totally and completely focused on this vision. Yes, there have been bumps in the road; of course there are when charting new territory. The latest and largest of which is the medicare reimbursement issue (see the article on Forbes website today). I was sick about the lay-offs; I had friends who were let go - people who were also focused on this same vision; people who loved Ambry too.
I can't help but feel like anyone making these mean-hearted posts here could not have been in line with this vision. And if this is the case, was Ambry really the right place for you? If the environment were truly as you say it is and you were so unhappy here, why did you stay? (and why are you so upset about getting laid-off?) To what end are you making these accusations and slanderous posts? What do you want to accomplish? To tear down the company and hurt those of us left here who also have families and bills to pay? I would hope the same compassion and empathy that we have towards your lay-off could be extended back to those of us still here at Ambry. I would like to kindly request that you please consider us; we who feel passionately about what we are doing and love our jobs.
I don't understand all of the negativity. Ambry is doing better without all of the people that were laid off. It was too many cooks in the kitchen. Everybody wanted to be the boss without the qualifications. It is a peaceful place to work at and I love it. All I can say is misery loves company:)
Pretty obvious. A few employees who got laid off are whining here. Guys just can't move on with their own lives.
All those poor children think Ambry is a God w a cure, when the Devil runs the company!
Only if they knew what goes on behind the scenes and after parties! "Only a fool follows a fool"
The best we can do is to take away some customers from Ambry. It should not be that hard now...
Fact or fiction: do cockroaches urinate on themselves?
Carma is a bitch.........
Hey folks, for any sales person that worked at Ambry, here is a job opening:
We need a creative, smart, well connected person to help out.
From experience, I wouldn't waste any more time trying to beat these guys up. While it might be run by family members it's still a corporation. While they sat on the top for awhile, all things have to go through this cycle and maybe they will come back from this.
We are all going to the laker game tonight if you an issue come see us
I love my job. Quit complaining folks.
I guess the biggest problem for Ambry is their organizational structure and culture. They are all destroyed now. Chuck what have you done?
At ACMG I talked to a few companies that were hiring. I know we are looking for a GC and sales leader. Geisinger was also looking for people if you don't mind relocating outside of CA.
Ambry's desperate attempt to cover up the sad truth with all these Cheesy cracker ass posts...PATHETIC!
Was that Kelly G.?
If that was so, they would not have the cash flow problems
No money? I heard Ambry has the best billing team in the industry!!!
What about Ardy? He use to tell me that it was him who was in charge of Ambry. He used to say Charlie is an idiot and if you want to make any deals you have to go through me...How come he is still there?
Hi. What happened to Ambry? I hear Charlie tried to sell the company but the buyer walked away due to the healthcare CPT reimbursements. Is that correct? What do you think can Ambry make it with all these changes?
why did Ambry run out of money?
What happened to the German fraulein?
That's funny if it is who I think it is. She should have been laid off with the rest of us because she was terrible to begin with. Another example of some of the wrong people let go.
Ha! Make that 4 Medical Directors gone! Who the hell is going to sign out cases? Good luck with that
50 plus people including 3 medical director, 1 CFO = dead weight? Think again DA...it sounds more like Ambry's broke Ass bank account...just saying!!! Holy or should I say Holey pockets BATMAN!!!
I lost my job because of KG and his mis mangement if he was never hired i would not be unemployed right now. Ambry is a great place never had an issue with Ambry they are doing things for the good of people
Part of the problem with the word 'disabilities' is that it immediately suggests an inability to see or hear or walk or do other things that many of us take for granted. But what of people who can't feel? Or talk about their feelings? Or manage their feelings in constructive ways? What of people who aren't able to form close and strong relationships? And people who cannot find fulfillment in their lives, or those who have lost hope, who live in disappointment and bitterness and find in life no joy, no love? These, it seems to me, are the real disabilities
Can't you ppl just stop whining? Our company needed to trim the dead weight; we are moving on without you. If you keep this up, you'll never make it in this industry!
Stop drinking the blue Kool Aid friend! Call it like it is...your time will come!!! They are a bunch of users that will squeeze you dry and throw you out once they have what they need. Ruthless people, don't buy into it! The rah rah culture and mentality around management and the CEO is all a facade. Just look how many people have come and gone out of that rah rah circle in the past years...judge for yourself! Don't be a moronic fool like the two brown nose stooges that are still kissing up to CD in order to keep their super high paychecks. Two brown snakes that have their dark brown noses up the CEO's behind so far they can't smell their own. That said, you are right...people should move on and not be bitter but call it like it is people!!!! I feel sorry for the friends still there and all future unsuspecting employees.
As a matter of fact, the company's core wasn't touched if not strengthened. As an employee, i feel it is better now and magnificent talents are coming back...
it is going through the growing pain as many other great companies did where a substantial shaking-up and restructuring after 10 years is sort of inevitable. lots of sadness and bitterness surely. understandable, but let's get over, my friends...
All I have to say is that it was a great company to work for. Everyone at one point worked for one goal together and then don't know what happened...I think HR was brought in to the picture...lol. SHE is one of the major problems there, kissing the CEO *ss and then turning around talking S*** about him behind his back to employees....hope he finds out...
I was fired last year and still have nightmares about that place. It's sad to hear so many people were laid off, but at least they were not fired. It's much easier finding a job when you are laid off. Hope they find their way!
With all the technology available today just get this Dbag on video sexually harassing employees and sue him into the ground.
You bitter people need to get a life. You couldn't cut it at Ambry, accept your failure and take a step down...
At least AA and HH are still there
Maybe company management flagged them? Hard to hide the truth.
Something is FISHY! You cut your staff almost in half and get rid of most of the marketing department AND outside sales? How does help future revenue???
Why the duck are these posts all flagged?!?
This is the ghost of Ambry Genetics.....
Not RIP but RAD
Chief executive officer creates the culture. Lets just say, it was a culture dead in the water years ago.
Great company. Used to work there, lots of smart scientists
hahahahahahahahaha...guess you just spent the entire year's marketing budget for the company on that post.
Excellent genetic sequencing laboratory located in southern CA.
