Want to learn about Ambry. Is Ambry profitable? Do they make money on their tests? How much revenue do they do per month? What are their most profitable tests?

Don't understand your post. I'm really not from Ambry and don't care who you are. Glad you were able to double your salary, sounds like your time at Ambry paid off then and your new employer valued that experience. that's what it's all about. Check out the Abbott board if you think layoffs are harsh. People on there were laid off after 20 years.

I follow several companies on this site just like most and was surprised to see Ambry. You must be new to biotech. Never met the Ambry CEO, but you seem like a paranoid person if you think everyone on this site has been sent here by him. You have a lot of complaints about how the company was run. Last time I check CA is an at will employment. If you left on your own and have these complaints then they may be valid. However, if you were part of the layoffs talked about on this board or were fired and only raise the complaints after the fact your comments are useless. Personally, it sounds like you need to get some help.

Wow never seen Ambry on this board before. I work at a diagnostic company not to far from Ambry. We don't offer the same type tests but we do employ several ex Ambry employees. Here are my thoughts and what I've heard about the company for those thinking of joining:
1. Surprised Ambry has survived this long. Not because of going out of business but because it hasn't been gobbled up by another company
2. known for top notch science
3. Think they have around 300 people
4. Have a good CLS training program
Don't know much about the layoffs or the CEO who seems to be popular on this site. I can tell you that I've been laid off 2 times in the past and it's just part of having a job. Also for the person asking about getting severance, nobody is doing that anymore. I got my PTO and a swift kick in the ass.
The comments about the CEO are amusing but you're wasting your time if you think a CEO of a company the size of AMbry is sitting home reading a site like this. it's funny when I read these boards of people bashing a CEO who has grown a successful company. For those of us interested in learning what's going on with the
company don't want to hear about all the grudges. Plus once your laid off nobody believes what is said anyways.

Amen to that, "woman who has worked at Ambry for many years." I am relatively new to the company and industry as a whole, but I am surprised by Charlie's enthusiasm and willingness to talk with employees who are at the lowest end of the totem pole as if they were a senior board member. I get the sense that Charlie does what he thinks best for the company, including letting go of the least effective employees when finances become tough. Why are these posts focused on one man anyway? Isn't the quality of Ambry's tests/reporting more important to patient health than the personality traits of its CEO? I guess the scientific merits of exome and nextgen panel testing don't really belong on a message board like this anyway...

As a woman who has worked at Ambry for many years, I would like to combat this fictitious image that is being created about some drug-laden, sexually deviant CEO. I know Charlie well and he is a kindhearted and compassionate man who is passionate about what he does and has created an environment at Ambry where creative people who truly care about genetics get to make a difference. We have been able to work together as a fun and collaborative group to be the first clinical lab introduce a nextgen panel, first to launch exome, first to launch cancer panels - all of which have led to countless inspirational patient stories. Those of us who are still at Ambry love what we do and are totally and completely focused on this vision. Yes, there have been bumps in the road; of course there are when charting new territory. The latest and largest of which is the medicare reimbursement issue (see the article on Forbes website today). I was sick about the lay-offs; I had friends who were let go - people who were also focused on this same vision; people who loved Ambry too.
I can't help but feel like anyone making these mean-hearted posts here could not have been in line with this vision. And if this is the case, was Ambry really the right place for you? If the environment were truly as you say it is and you were so unhappy here, why did you stay? (and why are you so upset about getting laid-off?) To what end are you making these accusations and slanderous posts? What do you want to accomplish? To tear down the company and hurt those of us left here who also have families and bills to pay? I would hope the same compassion and empathy that we have towards your lay-off could be extended back to those of us still here at Ambry. I would like to kindly request that you please consider us; we who feel passionately about what we are doing and love our jobs.

I don't understand all of the negativity. Ambry is doing better without all of the people that were laid off. It was too many cooks in the kitchen. Everybody wanted to be the boss without the qualifications. It is a peaceful place to work at and I love it. All I can say is misery loves company:)

From experience, I wouldn't waste any more time trying to beat these guys up. While it might be run by family members it's still a corporation. While they sat on the top for awhile, all things have to go through this cycle and maybe they will come back from this.

Part of the problem with the word 'disabilities' is that it immediately suggests an inability to see or hear or walk or do other things that many of us take for granted. But what of people who can't feel? Or talk about their feelings? Or manage their feelings in constructive ways? What of people who aren't able to form close and strong relationships? And people who cannot find fulfillment in their lives, or those who have lost hope, who live in disappointment and bitterness and find in life no joy, no love? These, it seems to me, are the real disabilities
