I beg your pardon. Dallas did not cause the Big Problem,they may have been part of the Problem. The Big Problem started in Lake County when our CEO ran the FDA out of the Lake County Facility.

Think about it. What can't be moved overseas. Right now it appears to be production and blood testing. Everything else is up for grabs. What is the purpose of having almost all of ADD move from AP to Lake Forest. Once the seperation is made, how easy would it be to spin off or sell the unit. Dallas caused big problems, are they needed. What is the bottom line, how much return is the division giving back to the company? Answer these and you will see the future.

Lots of Administrative consolidation in different countries is taking place. Areas such as Accounting, HR are being shared by 2-3 nations.

You will notice that the layoff dates have more to do with pay periods for the saleried. They happen just befor another pay period is started. I believe this is year "two" of the "three" year transition period. All jobs that can be performed cheaper overseas will go overseas. It's a matter of time and money.

Nov. 15 is a Monday. Abbott layoffs always happen on a Wed. (don't know why) Is tomorrow 10/27 the day?
NOV. 15th that's what we have been told. It will be 50% of the workforce. NO ONE KNOWS how the BONUS for management will be paid.

Abbott will do as they always have. There will be a Layoff, they will Layoff to many employees, then bring in contract workers to help get the job done. We have seen this time after time. Yes someone in upper managements BONUS does depend on this happening on schedule. Management has already told us that!!! Abbott Chicago is taking the distribution part of the bussiness. The rest will be third party. Singapore and other countries that will do the job cheaper. Management has this all planned out, except the FDA has not approved any of this!!!

How positive is November 15th date? If employees are given 60 day notice then wouldnt notices have to go out by end of October to clear books by new 2011 year. I am hearing October 27th as likely date. Any idea of severance package?
