ONLY....in his next paragraph he explains having too much vacation time on the books is bad financially for the company. He actually told us this! Can this person figure out how to motivate and get a company attitude positive? Guy tells us to encourage our employees to take more time off they deserve it, then in the same breath, tells us that if employees don't want to take time off, push them as vacation time cost the company money.

This stuff remind me of where I grew up in Asia. Unbelievable, it like working for Communist country.

So when a company want to reduce employee vacation time, and go through cost cutting, it is because they need to limit their liability to look better for investor.

When any company buy this place, and realize all good people jumping off the boat, they will tear this company apart and just take the technology. So if you employee, is time to get out of here.

I would be interested to see if more employee, besides just the usual mad Carlsbad, Eugene and Austin people go on this website to share information. This company heading for an implosion. This my first post, but you are all so right. THis is not just a clash of cultures, this is immature, ego-driven management. Look at the efforts put into Life Tech promotion in You Tube videos. This is desperate move by company finding it harder and harder to recruit talent. OF course they have talent through acquisition- folks who stay around for their obligatory year and go off to better companies. Many examples of that. Internal expertise in acquired technologies is very thin. Good luck to customers who buy into any new technology from this company.
