coming B4 year end.
If Thermo buys Life Singapore is done! They already have PCRs, including real-time PCRs
What Thermo will do is to convert ex-Life customers to their own gradually, after the revenue from ex-Life PCR instruments is close to zero. They will just shut down the whole site and lay off everyone
If Thermo buys life FRED is done! They already have a huge DC in VA and PA.
"Frederick has another round of layoff?"
Their "round of layoffs" are never ending, they will fire you for farting too loud in the freezer.
Frederick has another round of layoff?
"Really, how is Reno going?"
I dont think there are too many people who could tell you since they fire or lay off umpteen people a week from there.LOL
Really, how is Reno going?
"Who else can they give the award to? Only other business in Carlsbad is that shitty Pizza Port. The rest of the people there are cougar retirees."
Camp Pendleton doesn't count?
You have a point there.LOL
I just lost all respect for the Carlsbad Chamber Of Commerce.
Who else can they give the award to? Only other business in Carlsbad is that shitty Pizza Port. The rest of the people there are cougar retirees.
Celebrating its tradition of excellence and leadership, the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, whose founding precedes the incorporation of the City of Carlsbad by more than 30 years, chose “Our Place in Time” as the theme of the 90th anniversary celebration and Annual Business Awards Dinner.
To mark the milestone anniversary, the pool of finalists for this year’s business awards was made up of past annual awards winners. The winners this year received special “of the decade” awards.
During the event, the chamber presented awards in the following categories:
• Businessperson of the Decade – Greg Lucier, chairman and chief executive officer of Life Technologies Corp.
Always thought the inexplicable continued employment of some of GL's top echelon pointed to possession of photographic evidence of GL's days as a ball boy (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) at Penn State.
"So how much did GL donate to Penn State?"
So Sandusky is where GL learned to screw his employees in the ass, that explains alot.LOL
So how much did GL donate to Penn State?
"I would say that the people posting here are just upset because they were let go. In some cases I would say you’re attitude is what landed you on your butts wishing your swipe card still worked. quit acting like babies and start looking for a new job."
Not true. I am a current mfg employee in MD. Not disgruntled nor upset. I don't care what others are saying. A good decent job with little responsibility.
Biotechnology company Life Technologies Corp. could lose its investment grade rating if it isn’t able to sell itself and reacts by borrowing money to buy back shares or pay shareholders a dividend, according to a report by Moody’s Investors Service.
GL , make me some money and sell this POS. Otherwise, else company stock will go from 65-35.

NEVER MIND THE INCOMPETENCE LEADERSHIP. THERE IS NO JUSTICE IN THE WORLD.
There are not enough bathrooms in Frederick to tell the stories of mis-management.
"Gosh, I'm so glad this site is available, so you all don't have to mess up the walls of your restroom stalls with your anonymous scrawl."
The walls of the restroom are already full of anonymous scrawl, hence having to post here now.LOL
Gosh, I'm so glad this site is available, so you all don't have to mess up the walls of your restroom stalls with your anonymous scrawl.
You dumb fuck, I was laid off from LIFE and found a rewarding career at Thermo Fisher. Now I am much happy working for a first rate company in their M&A group. I will enjoy the slice and dice once the deal go through.
Frederick will remain no matter what will happen. Only R&D, IT and DCs. Mfg and services in 7335,7300 will be gone.
John Schaeffer is a dickhead with no conscience. KC
I was upset went I was let 3 years ago- looking back on it- a blessing - never been happier- what a crap hole that place became in the last 5 years
Greg L, let me guess: gotcha!
Jeff Dere was the best software person at the whole company, he couldn't take it anymore.
Thats why those orders keep going out wrong. Jeez, I think you mighta fixed life distribution. Well thank you so much for this opportunity boss.
What happened to the posts between 3/4/13 and 4/3/13?
Nothing. Website time stamps posts d/m/y in case you haven't noticed. You must work in LIFE distribution....
Jeff Dere is gone. He has been with AB(now Life Tech) since year 1986. Anyone knows what happened?
"Frederick has the best talents in LIFE. We have the best managers, directors. We have the best facilities, data center and most of all logistics. Steve Curran, Mark Macera, Rick Rimer, EHS, Facilities...etc...... LIFE will remain as it is."
I dont know what you've been smoking, but can I have some. Macera is about the only decent manager/director/supervisor in the whole Frederick site. Really lit a fire under the ass of some of the deadasses there. ALL of the other Distribution supervisors are total wastes of space, with the exception of Rod. Merhl is an asshole whos not fit to manage a McDonalds on the night shift and needs to learn to talk to people before someone bitch slaps him. I could go on about the others but I'm sure some others here will share their horror stories.
Frederick has the best talents in LIFE. We have the best managers, directors. We have the best facilities, data center and most of all logistics. Steve Curran, Mark Macera, Rick Rimer, EHS, Facilities...etc...... LIFE will remain as it is.
LOL...that fate would be too good for those useless jerks!
That would be like clicking on a dirty link and getting a free trojan horse. Just press delete and move on. There are no second thoughts on the matter. Barely even first thoughts. Just move on, cock in hand, and get ready to let the red and beige loose on the entire range.
.... Or.... Let them go work for fisher cleaning toilets..... then just sack them anyway. Unless its the ion torrent ones. You could give them a chance.
What do you think will happen to business development, in- and out-licensing, legal, and patent department if the company gets acquired by TMO?
Looks like TMO is moving into the favourite position bad news for many Life sites in distribution sales and services Frederick Europe and California to be hardest hit
Well I'm still a current employee, and have been posting "bad attitude" post about the shit hole for the past few months. Want to know what dept. I work in? Now go crawl back over to HR you troll.LOL
Yeah the idea that only laid off employees of Life are disgruntled is incorrect.
I would say that the people posting here are just upset because they were let go. In some cases I would say you’re attitude is what landed you on your butts wishing your swipe card still worked. quit acting like babies and start looking for a new job."
Stay on the Affy string where you first posted/stole this observation
Not even close to remotely true. Many actual current employees post here. Keep dreaming hr toadie.
I would say that the people posting here are just upset because they were let go. In some cases I would say you’re attitude is what landed you on your butts wishing your swipe card still worked. quit acting like babies and start looking for a new job.
"Lots of evil people and negative energy. May GOD save your souls, you MFs!"
Fuck God, I prefer to wait for all the incompetant supervisors and directors in Hell and run them through with red hot pokers.
That's old news.
Kimberly-Clark Corp announced on Tuesday its purchase of the anesthesia business of Life-Tech, which is a medical device maker based in Texas. The acquisition is comprised of needles, catheters and accessories associated with peripheral nerve block procedures. The newly-bought assets will become part of Kimberly-Clark’s Health Care division and will be added to K-C Health Care’s ON-Q array of products. Other business units of Life-Tech are not included in this transaction, the financials of which were not divulged. Shares closed up 1.9 percent on Tuesday at $99.79, and have been traded in a 52-week range of $73.33 to $98.11
"Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc (TMO.N) is emerging as the lead contender in an auction for Life Technologies Corp (LIFE.O), a genetic testing maker with a market value of more than $11 billion, three people familiar with the matter said this week.
Thermo Fisher, the world's largest maker of laboratory equipment, is considering a bid of $65 to $70 per share for Life Tech and is interested in buying the entire company, two of the people said.
It can squeeze more cost savings than buyout firms can and is expected to have a leg up on private equity bidders, which do not believe they can still achieve desired returns at that price range, the three people said. Thermo also has an advantage over rival trade buyers, which may not want all of Life Tech or have not been as aggressive in their pursuit of the company so far, the sources said."
Great job, GL. Life stock is at all time high even though wall street dips. With a beta of 1.27 and a below market ratio of P/E compared to your competitors, Life is certainly a target. Why are the people on this site so angry? Didn't they benefit from the employee stock purchase, stock grants or whatever else?
So it will close at $70 at best?
"Bids for Life are rumored to fall somewhere between $13 billion and $15 billion"
Right. $13-15 billion is $77-88 a share. Be surprised at the low end of that range, total shock if it's anywhere near the top. I'd guess that virtually all the premium is already built into the stock price and there's not another 20-30% to go.
