Roche Diagnostics downward spiral

They used to be #1 in the US and the world in diagnostics, then their leaders left, the FDA moved in and total incompetence followed. They continue to lose good talent and have mediocre products. And again as they did two years ago, they cut their customer-facing departments, while continuing to be so top-heavy they keep falling over themselves. The most recent reduction of 200 has established Roche as probably the only $1billion organization that does not have a true customer service department, or leader. Instead of going from "good to great", they've gone from "great to desperate".

. . . the FDA moved in and

. . . the FDA moved in and total incompetence followed.

These were two independent events. Some of the layoffs were needed to reduce the incompetency. CS not the only department without leadership, witness recent activity.

"...stay in step with the times or they pass you by..."

I guess the "new way forward"

I guess the "new way forward" is straight out the door - hows that for "lean" six sigma??? wait til the next FDA visit... I am sure they will be really impressed

Bad people continuing to make

Bad people continuing to make bad decisions. The chance of them being #1 in the U.S. by January 1, 2015 is slim or none and slim left town. 4% market share growth and a 16% growth in profitability for 2011 is almost as big a joke as the roche leadership.

See it Own it Solve it Do it

See it Own it Solve it Do it Fire it.... SOS.......

Cultural Accountability. Make

Cultural Accountability. Make it happen.

Layoffs today in Branchburg.

Layoffs today in Branchburg. Quality and Operations Mgrs and Directors targeted. If you were "lucky" they offered to let you keep your job with a lower level title and pay cut. Others were just let go... This is what "cultural transformation" is all about??? What garbage!

must not be a lot of new

must not be a lot of new stuff going on at RDC, otherwise folks would not be spending so much time on old news like MT>

I just had to re-post this

I just had to re-post this previous post, because it is brilliant and just cant be repeated enough:

M.T. finally got his gift! "Resigned" today. What a complete, total, utter failure he is. He has categorically DESTROYED Roche in less than 18 months. I hope that the rest of his cronnies, like J-nti M, and other will fall next. Congrats people of the Indy site, you won!

Dan O, Great call. You have sent a very clear message to the Roche group that nasty, incompetent people will not prevail in leadership.

M.T. hope you enjoy your season of unemployment. Word is widespread in the industry that you are an unfit leader for any ethical type of company. Maybe you should look for a career in trash hauling.

No one smart enough will. MT

No one smart enough will. MT has no clue how to build a company. He only knows how to bully managers and staff to do his work for him and he claims praise for it. Vela Dx will be a non-starter for sure.

Will be really interesting to

Will be really interesting to see who, if anyone, decides to go with MT!

MT setup his new venture in

MT setup his new venture in New Jersey. Now chasing after the Indy staff to join him and relocate to NJ. Shamelessly even approaching staff whom he previously pissed off. Talk about turning the tables. Most wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole. He is shameless enough to still show his face in Indy.

Clearly Swiss "the idiot(s)"

Clearly Swiss "the idiot(s)" didn't see it that way.

Anyone with half a brain

Anyone with half a brain could see that moving Indy would be cost prohibitive.

While I am not a fan of MTs

While I am not a fan of MTs management style, it is true that he took a strong stand against moving Commercial Operations to NJ and that without his advocacy it is likely that many people currently employed on the Indy campus would not have jobs.

The whiners in Indianapolis

The whiners in Indianapolis should all take a moment and thank MT for still having jobs there. He was sent to close that place and move operations to New Jersey. MT made the determination that it would have been too costly, approx $1B, to make the move and that those costs might never be able to be recovered. So take your shots as you will but at the end of the day you owe MT your pitiful farmland existence.

There are some "selected

There are some "selected Roche management" he is welcome to in his new venture.

Alas, MT is finally leaving

Alas, MT is finally leaving Indy with his tail between his legs.

5 star rating coming soon to

Vela Dx will be a Failure To

MT boasts that he still has

MT boasts that he still has selected Roche management "in his pocket" for his new venture.

Good one. It will get a lot

Good one. It will get a lot of hits. The womanizing is disgusting which is why he refuses to marry J. Habjanik but manages to string her a long.

News on MT Where does one

News on MT
Where does one click the "like" button on this?

He has recruited one of his

He has recruited one of his ex Roche cronies to be his COO now ... VELA Dx = Roche REJECTS ... MT's bullshit never changes, he is just full of hot air, he doesn't have a single scientist working for him ... he has been rejected multiple times over ... his reputation as an arrogant asshole and his complete incompetance is global ... VELA Dx will never take off ... it is as big of a joke as MT is himself ... it has already started with his unethical tricks and cheating investors out of their money ... it is still entertaining to watch him fail yet again ... his womanizing saga continues in Asia ...

He actually reached out to

He actually reached out to the COO of Roche first, and well, if anyone knows their history it was a stupid idea. He was in Indy a couple of months ago talking to some individuals within Roche. He has about 50-60 scientists on-board throughout the world, but those familiar with him, his work ethic, and his womanizing won't want anything to do with him. Now if they would fire the incompetence that slept with him to get their jobs.

So MT finally crawled his way

So MT finally crawled his way out of the grave and landed up at the other end of the world "Hail God" but it still couldnt be far enough. We thought he will remain unemployed forever. It should be entertaining to watch Vela Dx space, with MT's toxic presence everything he touches turns to S**T.

dudes ... finally an update

dudes ... finally an update .. MT is trying to start up a new Dx company in based in Singapore called VELA Dx but FAILING MISERABLY .... trying to reach out and pinch Roche Singapore staff and ex Roche satff but no one wants to work for him ... everyone is running the other was as fast as they can! his desperation can be smelt a mile away ... VELA Dx is doomed before it has even begun ... his reign of terror & unethical reputation preceeds him ... you would think this guy has learned after being fired from his last two jobs ... but he is too stupid to learn anything ... good riddance that he is gone from indy but bad for singapore ...

Nice try troll. Roche is ultraconservative when it comes to anything involving the FDA. I know first hand of an instance where a lot came in, a SEVERELY needed assay, and it failed regulatory and was abruptly scrapped. This put supply back over a month. This affected just 1 assay though. The rest were due to a not-so-flawless transition of production.

The delays have not been due to quality, they are because production of TDMs and DATs were moved to Germany from Indianapolis as well as there being a new voice picking warehouse at Indy. And then delays in spare parts are due to the earthquake and tsunami in Japan which disrupted the Hitachi factory. Unlike you, I actually work with the customers and you are just blowing smoke. If you do actually work for Roche then I only hope that you are fired soon; you are a weak link.

Be sure to "speak up"

You mean cultural beliefs

You mean cultural beliefs like:
Hiring good people and holding them accountable?
Refusing to listen to the negative chorus of losers?
Understanding that if you don't do what your boss wants and requires, you probably won't survive?
I call those "beliefs" personal accountability.
Count me in.

Maybe you should apply to MSNBC or GE.
The are always looking for a few good socialists.
They don't like truth or accountability either.
