If site leadership isn't ousted after yesterday's news then they never will be....they will probably try to spin it and dump some middle managers or supervisors they don't like.

NothIng here is going to change, face it. The upper mgt does what they want because they can. Is it right? Clearly not. Is it ethical? Not one bit but nothing will be done about it, someone high up condones this behavior and thinks its working for now.
So if its accepted up on high then there will be no mgt shakeup and those of us at the bottom rungs can't do anything about it no matter how many surveys we take. The only choices are to endure in silence or leave, which some have done but in reality if you 'live up here and don't want a long commute then you are stuck with these bozos and their crap. Those are the only two options leaveor shut up, they don't care and they certainly don't value yours a contributing member or the company no matter what they say.....so suck it up or walk, hey it's a paycheck right? When you have to deal with o e of these idiots just smile and nod makes them think your compliant and that all they really care about

The tree needs to be shaken to let the croney management out! I am so glad I left lonza. It has been the best thing ever. The grass is defintly greener on the other side!

I didn't make the rules... As for those that were hired at levels they really had not reached in their career..well thats another error on Lonza's part.
According to the rules Lonza have written. They can not promote just based on time or senority. There are several pieces of the puzzle to complete before promotion is considered. If the rules really do apply then that would mean they were written for all employees not just those that are climbing the ladder based off of who they know.

.....and some in the old times were hired as sra and III that should be II, are you saying that these guys get the position first just because of their title and not ability? get a grip on reality....

Like the one that requires two to four years between levels for promotion...Recently saw two people go from level two to supervisor (thats three steps) in 1 year time frame. Please don't try to tell me it was because they were worthy...Hmmmmm Do the rules apply for all? I think not... Only those in the inner circle.
Submitted by Anonymous on Thu, 07/07/2011 - 13:23.
Some of the resent promotions have been pretty shady... They did break the very set of rules that they set themselves. Guess the rules only apply to the average employee. The good ol' boys apparently have another set and will continue to climb and take care of each other. Yep all one can do is keep shaking your head.
Submitted by Anonymous on Fri, 17/06/2011 - 13:37.
Wake up, Ha! they know what they are doing, they are taking care of themslves and their own. Keeping their inner circle alive and well and throwing scraps to their lap dogs. Look at some of the recent promotions, They even broken their own rules to promote people, unbelievable.
Are the hardest workers or the most deserving getting anything? Aside from the constant lecturing about how lucky we are to work there and we should work harder and keep our mouths shut or its action plan time.
Action plans...Lonza's answer to anyone who has an opinion different than the one they tell you to have.
On a brighter note I had my first interview last week, hopefully I can tell them to piss off.

yeah well upper mgt here has a plan for people seeking greener pastures, there's an email floating around about what they think of people leaving, real professional. they keep saying people are "coming back", that's a load of BS
I know we are losing a lot of people and some of the moves I can understand, but leaving for Genzyme?? When you have people leaving to work at a place under consent decree you eventually have to admit that this place really sucks.
This mgt team isnt the right team to be leading us, hopefully some mgt is reading this, and by some of the responses I think the are....WAKE UP guys!!!

Unions in Biotech?,
Unions are a great excuse for incompetent lazy people to hide and to prevent the few exceptional workers from actually getting promoted ....which group are you in?, I think we both know the real answer to that one.

Keep them from leaving? Are you kidding it seems like the management here thinks their job is to force people out........make them do their jobs you mean
There a few people here that just don't play nice and yet nothing seems to get done about it. play nice hahaha where have you worked before...
I'm sure with the recent inspection findings there's going to be some finger pointing that should make for an even better atmosphere........comes with the industry, dont like it try the big G, im sure its much better with a CD to deal with, or macdonalds if you have no other skills or exprience

Word around town is that after 2011 they will pack up their profits and sell off the Portsmouth site to whomever wants that size facility.
Borgas pretty much came out and all but said , we're selling out. Hopkinton plant is where they will keep the US operation rolling. Look around at all the departures, promotions and "transfers". Shifting the talent pool of those they want to keep down to Hopkinton and promoting those they really like to either transition them after a buyout or roll them into a sweet position after a buyout.
The writing is on the wall people, you don't think they'd be treating us like this or letting so many go if they planned on staying, how many temp heads do we have here?

yep any post with a shred of truth to it gets yanked. Lonza mgt. thinks the employees are stupid and don't like to talk about what's really going on.
